The Netherlands is a country located mainly in Northwestern Europe. The European portion of the Netherlands consists of twelve separate provinces that border Germany to the east, Belgium to the south, and the North Sea to the northwest, with maritime borders in the North Sea with Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. Together with three island territories in the Caribbean Sea—Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba— it forms a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The official language is Dutch, but a secondary official language in the province of Friesland is West Frisian. The six largest cities in the Netherlands are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Tilburg. Amsterdam is the country's capital, while The Hague holds the seat of the State’s General, Cabinet and Supreme Court. The Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe, and the largest in any country outside Asia.

Education in the Netherlands is intensive and whilst in some circumstances you may be able to complete some part-time work you should expect to commit most of your time to your studies. The Netherlands (Holland) is in North-west Europe across the sea from the UK and with borders to Belgium and Germany. Required application documents:
· Scanned copy of passport or ID card

University application deadlines for the Netherlands:
Check the application deadline directly with the universities you are interested in because they may vary.
· The application deadline for most courses: 1st of May
· In some universities, the application deadline is: 1st of February or the 1st of March
· For the Numerous Fixus and DUO platform, the deadline is typically 15th of January.
· The general recommendation is that you apply by mid-April at the latest so that you will have enough time to arrange your visa (if you need one) and housing before you start your studies.
